We don't quote off photos.

A picture flattens size. It hides rust in the corners. It doesn't show how thick the grease, old powder, undercoating, or the extra six inches your tape measure missed. We've priced jobs from a "pretty clean, about this big" text and watched the real part hit the floor bigger, dirtier; a different job than the one we numbered.

If we guess from the picture, one of two things will happen. We pad every quote until you go somewhere else. Or we eat the blast time and coat a part we didn't price. We've done both. We're done doing either.

Photos and a tape measure tell us if it fits and if it's work we take. They are not a quote.

The number you can budget against comes after we see the part. Same part number off two different cars is not the same job. Rust, old coating, hang points, masking, and color decide the price more than the name of the part.

What actually changes the price?

Size and Shape. Part must fit the oven and hang with air around it. Long, boxed, twisted, or heavy parts take more powder and more time.
What's on it now. Bare metal, light rust, packed scale, old powder, undercoating, and chrome are different prep. Chrome is its own problem - see below.
How clean it really is. "It's clean" still usually means blast time. Grease and rust packed in seams don't show in a phone pic.
Masking. Threads, machined faces, bushing bores, and ports that all have to stay raw.
Color and Coats. One stock color is one job. Primer plus color, two-coat, candy, or a color match is another.
How many pieces and how they hang. A tub of brackets is not priced like one bracket. They hang with space between them, not stacked.

That's why we won't throw you a frame number from a text.

Two frames are not two of the same thing.

How a quote works.

Send photos and measurements if you want to know whether it fits and whether we should bother looking at it.
Bring the part in, or set a time for us to come look at it.
You get a quote for the part on the floor - Size, rust, coating, hang, mask, color.
If what you drop off is not what we inspected. The quote is not the price. We'll call before we proceed.

Quote is for the part as inspected. Extra rust, extra coating, extra size, or a pile that wasn't in the photo; that's all additional.

Big Parts - we'll come to you.

Car frame, trailer, plow, anything that's a pain to load just to get a look: we'll come inspect it if you're within 50 miles of the shop.

That's an inspection, not a coat. We look at size, rust, old coatings, and whether it fits inside the box. You will get a quote within 24-hours of that visit.

Mobile inspections are $50.00 flat. If you book with us, we'll subtract this inspection fee from your final invoice.

Will it Fit?

An individual part has to fit in one of these:

4ft x 4ft x 6ft
18ft x 8ft x 6ft

Fitting in the box is not a quote, it's the first filter.

Parts have to hang. Powder goes on while the part is suspended, so we need a hole or place to hang it.

We plug threads and orifices that have to stay clean. We tape ports and faces that have to stay raw.

Batch work: we can hang as many peices as you can fit in that box, with a few inches of air on all sides, hanging vertical. Don't count on them stacking like firewood.

If you're not sure it fits, call before you trailer it.

We determine if it fits if we perform a mobile inspection.

What we won't quote.

No chrome-plated parts.

Chrome is slick and hard. Powder won't bite it. We don't strip chrome here. We don't run acid baths or chrome tanks. We sand blast what blasting will take off. Chrome is not that.

Have the chrome taken off to bare metal before it shows up. If it still has chrome on it, it goes back.
